Planting rice has its own customs and traditions and has become an integral part of the culture of people in northern Iran and in countries such as Japan and Indonesia. Rice planting steps from Sprout It takes about 4 to 6 months from seed to harvest. Rice is one of the oldest and most famous foods on the planet, so much so that in Japan and Indonesia rice has its own god. In the north of Iran, planting rice has its own customs and has become an inseparable part of people’s culture. The first stage of rice planting is the germination stage of rice seeds. Farmers keep some seeds from the previous year’s rice crop in a dry and suitable place and away from any animals and rats in the form of paddy or clusters. Sometimes, due to the failure of the product, a little seed or the change of the product variety, the seed is procured from other places. And in the new year, by performing a special operation, last year’s seed germinates and the germinated seed is ready to be planted in the ground (treasury). The seed prepared in this way is stored in a dry and suitable place. so that insects, birds and rodents such as mice do not have access to it. The use of this seed in the northern provinces of the country starts from the 2nd to the 5th of April.

Rice seed germination:

To germinate rice seeds, they first prepare a large amount of water and salt solution. Then the farmers put the paddy they have kept since last year into water and salt. Light seeds float to the surface and heavier seeds settle. Light seeds are not worth planting and should be discarded. Heavier seeds are washed with water and put into suitable sacks for the next steps. And they put the sacks in the water and give them a few days. After 2 or 3 days when the sacks were in water, they take them out and pour the seeds inside the sack on the ground or mat. And they cover it with a felt cloth. From now on, it takes about a week for the seeds to germinate and be ready to be planted in the agricultural land called “Khazaneh”. April is the time for planting rice, and the germination stage of rice seeds has also started from the beginning of April. And it takes about ten days. In this article, we will explain all the timing of the stages assuming the first stage starts in early April, and this timing can be done with a month delay in different regions.
