Nutritional value and importance of vegetables

Consuming vegetables is essential for health and most of them are low in energy fat and carbohydrates. Based on correct and modern nutrition, a food item should have: tasty – healthy – satiety and economical. Most vegetables have this feature. The presence of vegetables in human daily food is mandatory, so that 80% of the total food volume should be horticultural products (fruits and vegetables) and the remaining 20% should be proteins (meat, eggs, cheese) and sugars (starch and the like).
