E-Learning & Certification for the user of herbal essential oils

CERTIFICATE HELPLINE OVERVIEW

Virtual user training of herbal essential oils: Essential oils (volatile oils) are one of the most important effective substances of medicinal plants. These substances are found in many different parts of medicinal plants. Essential oils evaporate if exposed to air at normal temperatures. Hence, they are called volatile oils. And the special smell of some plants is related to this group of compounds. Essential oils are usually colorless, especially when they are freshly prepared, but over time, they become oxidized and resinous, and as a result, they become dark. Therefore, to prevent these changes, essential oils should be stored in a cool and dry place, in opaque and closed containers and away from light. Essential oils differ from fixed oils in terms of some chemical and physical properties. The most important of these differences are:
  1. Essential oils can be distilled and therefore they can be easily extracted through distillation methods.
  2. The chemical structure of essential oils is different from oil. Fixed oils are not made of glycerine esters and fatty acids. Unlike fixed oils, essential oils do not rot or turn sour, but will oxidize and form resin in the vicinity of air and light.

The most important factors affecting the quality of essential oils:

Weather: is one of the factors affecting the compounds in a plant. Imagine that plants rich in effective substances are always grown in hot climates. And in cold weather, the quality of effective herbal ingredients usually decreases. In general, the plant will always have the most effective substances and the best compounds in its natural growth and development conditions. In the same way, even the height above the sea level is also effective in the amount of effective substances in a plant. And research has shown that each plant species has an optimal height where it will have maximum activity. Light: can play an important role in the chemical composition of the plant. So that some plant species, if cultivated in the vicinity of light, make more secretory glands and secrete more essential oil. The role of the plant race: should also be taken into consideration. The time of collection also significantly affects the effective substances in the plant. Day hours: It has been proven in many cases that, at least in the green parts of plants, the formation of effective substances is very high during the most active period of a plant’s growth. Even the hours of the day affect the amount of plant compounds.
